Who wouldn’t be stunned in so much awe when waves come crashing against the shore – small waves wash the day’s debris onto the land; reckoning the untouched golden sand that covers the floor. The aroma of the salty sea rushes through your nose as you breathe in fresh air.

Quinale Beach in Anda is one of the numerous gorgeous bone-white sand beaches on the island of Bohol. It is gradually gaining popularity, although it is still not as well-known as Alona and Dumaluan. Because of its remoteness from Tagbilaran, it has retained part of its picturesque appeal. Because of its swinging coconut trees, powdery sands, laid-back ambiance, and calm turquoise waters, this public beach is a great tropical vacation.

HOW TO GET THERE

By Air:

1. The fastest and easiest way to get to Bohol is by plane; there are regular flights from Manila to Bohol (Tagbilaran) operated by Cebu Pacific, AirAsia, and Philippine Airlines. Wait for promo fares to get the cheapest possible tickets for the dates you want.
2. Once in Tagbilaran, ride a tricycle and tell the driver to go to Dao Terminal.
3. From the terminal board a van or bus bound for Anda, the fare costs P120 or P100 respectively.

By Sea:

1. WG&A Super Ferry and Sulpicio Lines offer Manila to Bohol (and vice versa) route several times a week. WG&A sea fare ranges from P2000 to P8000 while Sulpicio Lines fare ranges from P1800 to P3500. Check the ferry schedules of your preferred company. Travel duration is around 30 hours.

Entrance Fee and Other Charges:

• Entrance Fee: None
• Environmental fee: 10 pesos per person
• Camping Fee: As of writing, free of charge; bring your own tent. Observe proper garbage disposal.
• Cottage Rental Fee: As of writing, free of charge. You may rent tables (P75) and chairs (P5, 2 chairs).
• Transportation Rental Rates: P300/day (motorbike rental, excluding gasoline); P2500 (private car with driver); P3000 (van with driver)
• Quinale Beach doesn’t have the hustle and bustle of Alona; this is one of the reasons it makes it a good addition to your Bohol itinerary. The fine powdery white sand fits perfectly between your toes and the cool enticing waters will douse the mid-morning and afternoon heat.
• Swim and wade in the waters to your heart’s content or simply laze on the beach to get a tan or read your favorite book.
• The shore is big enough for activities like volleyball and Frisbee.

TRAVEL TIPS!

• The motorcycle is such a great means of transportation in Anda, Bohol. Hence, I advise you to rent a Motorcycle if you know how to drive and visit all the hidden gem of Anda, especially Quinale beach and the Cave Pools.
• You can take your own camping tent and just camp on the beach, during my visit, there’s no entrance fee yet.
• You can spend many activities on Quinale beach such as walking on the shoreline, swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving.
• Wake up early in the morning and experience the stunning view of sunrise.
• Affordable and home cook food, is located near the Market just a few meters away from the beach.
