The historic Liberty Shrine also known as Mactan Shrine has become an even more captivating destination, now featuring a stunning open-air exhibit of giant animal sculptures by world-renowned driftwood artist James Doran-Webb.

The free public exhibit showcases breathtakingly realistic wildlife figures crafted from driftwood, appearing so lifelike they could be mistaken for live animals at first glance. The installation offers a unique blend of art, culture and history at one of Cebu’s most significant landmarks.

Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Cindi King Chan expressed profound gratitude to the artist, stating, “A million thanks to James Doran-Webb for generously lending his masterpieces for our free exhibit. Your talent elevates not just our space but our people’s appreciation for art, culture and history.”

The city government emphasizes that the exhibit is open to all with no entrance fee, inviting the public to visit and enjoy the awe-inspiring artworks while respectfully observing them without touch.📸 Mayor Cindi King Chan
