Instead of enduring hours on the road, travelers can now see northern Cebu from above. On Friday, December 12, 2025, the Tuburan Sky-Tour Experience officially launched, opening helicopter access to the town and nearby islands for tourists and adventure seekers.
The initiative is designed to boost Tuburan’s tourism sector and shorten travel time, allowing direct landings at the scenic Tuburan 360 attraction. Mayor Christian Daniel Diamante led the launch with Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, Ako Bisaya Party-list Representative Sonny Lagon, and former Cebu Third District Representative PJ Garcia.
The program offers helicopter tours connecting Mactan, Tuburan, and Bantayan Island. All aircraft used are certified with valid Airworthy Certificates.
Three helicopter models are available: the R44 (one pilot, three passengers), the R66 (one pilot, four passengers), and the AS350B3E (one pilot, five passengers).
Tourism Secretary Frasco highlighted the economic benefits of the program.
“It’s a big help for Cebu and the Philippines to launch the Sky Tours Experience because first of all, this is a brand new product for tourism for Cebu which adds to its already very diversified landscape,” she said. “What that will translate to is more interest both from international and local tourists and with more people visiting, of course, we’ll have more livelihood and employment also and opportunities for our destinations.”
Frasco also noted the importance of national support for local initiatives.
“I come from the local government and so my focus has always been to bring the local voice into national governance which is why I’m here to lend the support of the national government to this very innovative project of the local government unit of Tuburan,” she said. “This will also benefit Bantayan Island and our stakeholders there as well as, of course, the rest of Cebu in general.”
