With just a boat ride off the coast of Northeastern Cebu, you can get a calming getaway on the white sands of Camotes Islands’ Santiago Beach with views that feel like eye candy.
The bright turquoise waters and the leaning coconut trees around the area welcome anyone into vacation mode in an instant. Maintained by the local government of the municipality of San Francisco, the bay serves as both a public beach and a place of relaxation.
The clear and shallow waters from the shore of Santiago Beach makes it well-loved by children and non-swimmers who want a small dip by the sea. Glistening meters of smooth white sand invite visitors for a game of volleyball at low tide, while deep waters showcase a rich deep blue along the shore at high tide. The balance of both makes Santiago Bay perfect for relaxation and sunset photos by the beach.
Not only does Santiago offer a good variety of photo-worthy spots around the shore, but it also features creative activities and souvenirs to take home. Visiting the local shops and food stalls scattered along the beach gives you a taste of authentic island hospitality—fresh grilled seafood, refreshing coconut juice, and handmade crafts that capture the essence of Camotes.
