Mimoy’s Grill: where every meal feels like coming home

A special meal with family and friends always rings in our memory as a very fond one. A simple yet memorable gathering has always been the vision that Mimoy’s Grill heralded since it started in 2019.

What began as a simple concept of wanting to bring families and friends together while serving hearty and scrumptious family recipes to Cebuanos, the restaurant has now expanded its reach to the heart of Mandaue as it opened its second branch at Mantlewood Town Center by Oakridge, Mandaue City.

The journey began at TOPS of Cebu with a simple dream between Clariele Gatdula Osmeña and her husband Mariano Antonio V. “Mimo” Osmeña, both always on the lookout for good Filipino barbeque.

“Nothing grand, really. My husband and I just always craved Pinoy Barbeque”, Clariele said.

Just as her career was taking off, Clariele received her first profit share—and a challenge from her husband to start her own business.

She shared: “My husband told me, ‘Why work for someone else?”

The central philosophy of Mimoy’s is not novelty, but a shared commitment to consistently serving warm, home-cooked dishes, one plate at a time.

“We strive daily to do it well. Quality Filipino comfort food and service is the first thing that will come to mind when you hear Mimoy’s Grill,” Clariele said.

Mimoy’s Grill offers an extensive lineup of Filipino dishes that are sure to capture your taste buds with every bite. Clariele personally suggested a few from their menu:

“Our Grilled Pork Belly, Beef Bulalo, and Pancit Guisado! These dishes are also best paired with a cold, fizzy soft drink or beer,” she recommended.

Every dish on the menu is a story of Clariele’s family. Each one with a personal touch from her parents and herself. Diners are not only in for good food but they are also partaking a celebration of a living legacy woven through passion, recipe, and routine.

“Aside from the grilled staples that we offer, there is the Beef Bulalo. I added that to the menu, inspired by my late dad who used to cook it on weekends. Every time someone compliments our Bulalo, I proudly say, ‘it’s my dad’s recipe.’”

Sticking to their image as a warm, welcoming and simple restaurant, Clariele emphasized the feeling of home whenever people come into the restaurant and indulge in home cooked quality dishes.

“We’re not trying to be the fanciest grill in Mandaue– we just want to be the homiest. Our hope is that Mimoy’s becomes that comfortable, no-fuss place where family and barkadas gather over good Bulalo and barbeque and feel genuinely at home. Where you can sit, eat, and enjoy the good and each other’s company and stories. Shared food made from our own family table, shared with the community– that’s the energy we want to bring.”

Mimoy’s Grill is now serving daily at Mantlewood Town Center, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Pagkalami!
