The Cebu City Government sets to commemorate its 457th Founding Anniversary through various activities including the Pasidungog and Pasundayag sa Pagtuo on August 29, 2026, showcasing the culture of the different municipalities through festival performances and carrozas procession.
In the Pasidungog celebration, seven local government units are expected to perform festival dances and several municipalities will also participate in the Pasundayag sa Pagtuo, expecting full attendance from the different local government units under Cebu Province.
The seven municipalities that will join the Pasidungog are: Carcar, Naga, Borbon, Toledo, Carmen, Argao and Dumanjug.
Meanwhile, the route for the Pasundayag sa Pagtuo will be from Capitol Grounds to Fuente Osmeña Circle and ending at the Cebu City Sports Center.
The budget for the upcoming anniversary celebration, Pasundayag and Pasidungog, totals to over P20 million; P100,000 is given to Pasundayag participants from the mainland, P120,000 - P130,000 is received by Pasundayag participants from the islands and P2 million is allocated to the Pasidungog activity.
Head of Provincial Tourism Office Rowena Montecillo said that the budget is to subsidize the participating towns and to help in showcasing the different festivals in the province.
“We are subsidizing, of course, the different towns because they will be bringing in their contingents,” said Montecillo.
Montecillo also mentioned that more activities will be expected during next year’s Pasidungog while still featuring different cultures that will boost the appreciation for Cebu Province.
The Pasundayag sa Pagtuo is running in its second year, while Pasidungog is launching this year.
