LTO 7 launches website for easier license plate tracking

Motorists in Central Visayas can now check the availability and claiming location of their vehicle license plates online through a new digital platform launched by the Land Transportation Office Region 7.

LTO 7 Regional Director Atty. Wendel C. Dinglasan launched the LTO 7 Plate Spotter Website on Aug. 7, 2026, allowing registered motorists to verify the status of their motor vehicle and motorcycle license plates before visiting an LTO office.

The online platform, accessible through www.lto-r7-platespotter.ph, allows users to search using their plate number or motor vehicle (MV) file number.

Motorists with MV File Numbers beginning with 0701 or 0716 can use the website to check if their plates are already available and determine the LTO office where they can claim them.

LTO 7 said the system aims to reduce unnecessary trips to its offices and make the plate claiming process faster and more convenient for motorists.

“Public service should be accessible, efficient, and convenient. Through the Plate Spotter Website, we are giving motorists an easier way to locate and claim their license plates while bringing government services closer to the people through digital innovation,” Dinglasan said.

The regional office said the platform is part of its continuing efforts to improve public service delivery through technology.

Instead of personally visiting LTO offices to inquire about plate availability, motorists can now verify the status of their plates online before proceeding with the claiming process.

LTO 7 encouraged motorists to use the website and follow the step-by-step guide provided by the agency to locate and claim their license plates.
