The Cebu Provincial Government has warned the public against unauthorized online solicitations involving booth rentals for the upcoming Pasidungog sa Sugbo celebration, saying no concessionaire applications or payment collections have been officially opened.
The Cebu Provincial Tourism Office (CPTO) issued the advisory on Wednesday after several Facebook pages allegedly began offering concessionaire reservations and collecting payments while claiming to represent the provincial government.
The Capitol identified the Facebook page “Kreativ Events&More Ph and Intl” as among those allegedly making such offers and clarified that the page is not authorized to transact on behalf of the Province for the event.
The provincial government stressed that no official announcement has been released regarding concessionaire applications and that no booth rental or reservation fees have been approved for collection.
“No official announcement has been made regarding the opening of concessionaire applications,” the Capitol said in its advisory.
It added that “no rental fees or booth reservation fees have been discussed, approved or authorized for collection.”
The Capitol also clarified that it has not designated any private individual, organization, or social media page to receive payments for Pasidungog sa Sugbo.
The provincial government urged prospective concessionaires, entrepreneurs, and the public to verify information through official government channels before entering into transactions or sending payments.
Business owners were advised to avoid unofficial social media posts and private messages offering booth slots and to wait for official announcements on application procedures and payment guidelines.
The Capitol said any authorized payments related to the event will only be processed through official government procedures and designated collecting offices.
The matter has been referred to appropriate authorities for investigation to identify those behind the alleged unauthorized online activity.
The CPTO also encouraged the public to report suspicious pages, online solicitations, or individuals claiming to represent the Cebu Provincial Government in connection with Pasidungog sa Sugbo.
Officials reminded the public to remain vigilant and rely only on verified government platforms to avoid fraudulent transactions.
