CEBU CITY — A man was arrested on August 28, 2026, following an alleged attempted rape incident in Sitio Ubos Pundoc, Barangay Basak Pardo, Cebu City.
According to police, the victim was heading home from work when she was allegedly followed and confronted by the suspect.
The victim managed to seek assistance, prompting responding police personnel to intervene. The suspect was later apprehended in Sitio Tres De Abril, Barangay Punta Princesa.
Police said the victim initiated a citizen’s arrest with assistance from personnel of Inayawan Police Station 7, leading to the suspect’s immediate apprehension.
The suspect was brought to the police station for booking and documentation, while authorities prepared the appropriate legal action in connection with the complaint.
The case is being processed in accordance with existing laws.
The allegations against the suspect have not been proven in court, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
