Cebu Institute of Technology–University (CIT-U) announced on Friday, September 25, 2026, that all classes will shift to online learning effective immediately, while employees will transition to remote work amid an ongoing Philippine National Police (PNP) investigation.
The university said teachers and instructors will coordinate with their respective classes regarding online platforms, schedules, and other necessary instructions. Employees have also been advised to coordinate with their supervisors or offices regarding work assignments and arrangements.

The move followed the circulation of a message from a social media account using the name “bye too toot.” The account reportedly posted allegations of bullying involving students, faculty, and staff at the university.
The message also contained statements expressing anger over the alleged bullying and warned that some staff members, students, and instructors could be affected.
Authorities are investigating the message and have yet to release further details regarding the reported threat or identify the person behind the account.
CIT-U has urged members of its community to remain calm, prioritize their safety, and monitor official channels for further announcements as the investigation continues.
