Disaster preparedness will receive the biggest share of Mandaue City’s proposed P285-million disaster risk reduction and management investment plan for 2027, covering 49 programs, projects and activities (PPAs).
Of the total allocation, P131.875 million is earmarked for 35 preparedness PPAs, according to the investment plan presented during the third-quarter meeting of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) on Sept. 25 at the Mandaue Presidencia.
The city also set aside P12.405 million for eight projects focused on disaster prevention and mitigation.
Three programs covering disaster response and early recovery will receive P19.72 million, while two rehabilitation and recovery projects are allocated P4 million.
The plan further includes P72 million for the Quick Response Fund and P45 million for the Special Trust Fund.
City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office head Buddy Alain Ybañez presented the proposed allocations during the council meeting.
The CDRRMC also reviewed the third-quarter accomplishment reports of the CDRRMO and the Mandaue City Fire Station.
Mayor Thadeo “Jonkie” Ouano was represented by Atty. Riczen Gingoyon during the meeting, which was attended by Councilor Eugene Andaya, chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.
Representatives from various city offices and agencies also participated in the council meeting.
