Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) unveiled three newly acquired medical machines on November 27, 2025, aimed at expanding and sustaining quality healthcare services for city residents.
The equipment includes laparoscopic, mechanical, and anesthesia units, costing around P38 million under the current administration.
Mayor Nestor Archival personally inspected the new machines.
Hospital Administrator Kenneth Siasar said the acquisition responds to the growing surgical needs at CCMC, noting that the existing anesthesia machine had begun showing signs of wear.
Chief Surgery Resident Dr. Stephanie Pangilinan highlighted that the new equipment ensures the continuation of free surgical services for indigent patients needing procedures such as gallbladder, breast, hernia, and appendectomy operations.
Medical Director Dr. Anton Oliver Reposar added that the hospital now uses the same level of medical technology found in private institutions like Chong Hua and Cebu Doctors, but without the financial burden on patients, from admission to discharge.
Siasar also urged CCMC nurses to enhance service quality and promptly raise any concerns to improve patient care.
Archival reaffirmed that health remains a priority for his administration alongside education, traffic, flooding, and waste management.
He noted that completing CCMC’s construction is a key commitment, with a P690-million budget already approved for floors four to seven, while additional funding will cover interior requirements and the roof deck for full operations.
Archival also said the city aims to implement a zero-billing system at CCMC in line with the national government’s goal of supporting the poor in healthcare.
City Administrator Albert Tan and Councilor Jose Abellanosa were present during the equipment presentation.
