CNU’s 44 LET Topnotchers Score Recognition, Cash Rewards

Cebu Normal University (CNU) ended 2025 with a rewarding flourish as 44 of its students from Cebu City, Mandaue, and Talisay City claimed top spots in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET)—and walked away with cash prizes totaling millions of pesos. 

Families and loved ones cheered the winners during the awarding ceremony at CNU on Tuesday, December 23.

Of the top 44, 15 excelled at the Elementary Level and 29 at the Secondary Level. CNU President Dr. Daniel Ariaso, Sr. highlighted the school’s record-breaking performance. 

“It is a great honor to have you here for the first time in 123 years, earning 44 top 10. You make us very proud and happy,” he said. 

CNU ranked first nationwide for the Secondary Level with a passing rate of ninety-seven point five seven percent and fourth for Elementary Level with ninety-three point five three percent, according to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

Cash incentives were handed out to all topnotchers: first placers received P100,000; second and third placers P70,000; fourth and fifth P50,000; and sixth to tenth P30,000 each.

Elementary Level Top Placements

1st: Christel Zamora De Los Reyes, Cebu City – 94.40 percent (P100,000)

3rd: Marsha Mae Mantalba Tapic, Mandaue City – 93.60 percent (P70,000)

4th: Vinci Miguelle Narca Agua, Kyna Samantha Reyes Capuno, Marjoe Mejias, Cebu City – 93.40 percent (P50,000)

5th: Mary Frances Racines Veliganilao, Talisay City – 93.20 percent (P50,000)

7th: Saint Mark Lloyd Benagles Cinco, Renashel Espinoza Condrillon, Francelle Henriett Sonsona Pasay, Cebu City – 92.80 percent (P30,000)

9th: Bench Yasmin Getaruelas Canencia, Erica Largo – 92.40 percent (P30,000)

10th: Grace Lee Tuyogan Endrina, Jheane Tac-an Peñas, Jiolla Mariz Gutierrez Reuyan, Rhea Cassandra Villaruel Tisoy – 92.20 percent (P30,000)

Secondary Level Top Placements

1st: Jed Vincent Requilme Abadia, Cebu City – 94.80 percent (P100,000)

2nd: James Brian Pantilgan Banag, Mandaue City – 94.60 percent (P70,000)

3rd: Christine Ese Salmero Perez, Cebu City – 94.40 percent (P70,000)

7th: Jechrister Jireh Melgo Echavez, Janine Petalcorin Gonzaga, Genebie Laranjo, Princess Rhina Garnace Pahayahay, Ellen Rose Goc-ong Sodoso, Ela Lois Bendanillo Tuhoy, Cebu City – 93.60 percent (P30,000)

8th: Ferree Anne Lesondra Alvios, Jesyl Aloba Cabahug, Ma. Victoria Vargas – 93.40 percent (P30,000)

9th: Angele Alcantara Calipondan, Danika Ma. Louise Bonggot Minoza, Jerald Catamco Panugaling, Jake Arcenal Pradilla, Rocky Otugay Santander, Clara Mae Monceda Tangpos – 93.20 percent (P30,000)

10th: Lera Jane Catayas Camangyan, Rheisa Jakosalem Camiguel, Jamaica Rascen Gallardo Claro, Frederick Barasan Fernandez, Billy Joe Abanes Maurillo, Jann Denzelle Blanco Nudalo, Krizcia May Simbajon Ombos, Jhana Mae Abanid Orenda, May Bern Richelle Aumentado Saldo, Joselle Mark Tonion Serna, Jasmin Baguio Tenebroso – 93.00 percent (P30,000)

“You make us very proud and happy because out of 122,528 takers nationwide, the top 1 is from Cebu Normal University. Not just one but two,” Ariaso said. 

He reminded the students that their success uplifts not only themselves and their families, but the entire CNU community.
