Phones will stay on, and social media will keep buzzing during this year’s Sinulog.

Cebu City has confirmed there will be no signal shutdown during the festival, ensuring uninterrupted communication for the public, participants, and media.

The city also issued updated guidelines to improve discipline among contingents, enhance public engagement, and make the celebration safer and more organized.

The announcement was made in a post by Cebu City News, the official social media arm of the Cebu City government.

Among the rules, contingents arriving at their pre-positioning areas along the carousel route at or after 7:00 a.m. will no longer be allowed to participate.

Performers are prohibited from bringing or using lights and bright illuminated props during performances, while pre-judging of floats will be conducted to ensure adherence to competition standards and prevent previous issues from recurring.

Media members are encouraged to cover all Sinulog-related events and to cross-post updates on their respective social media pages to broaden public reach.

City officials said these measures are part of a coordinated effort with the Sinulog Foundation Inc. and other stakeholders to deliver a meaningful and well-organized festival.
