Not all Sinulog celebrations begin with a drumbeat—some start with a pair of heels, a cause, and a community coming together.

As Sinulog Week approaches, Cebu’s drag scene is set to deliver more than spectacle with Dragdagulan Na Sa Sinulog 2026 – Benefit Show, presented by Wosh ka Et? Production.

The event will take place on January 10, 2026 (Saturday) at 10:00 PM at From Here, Crossroads, with part of the proceeds going to Angat Cebu BPO to support animal welfare.

The benefit show also aims to celebrate art, inclusivity, and community. It will feature a powerhouse lineup of Drag Den season 2 artists Maria Lava, Mrs. Tan, Moi, and Drag Supreme Deja, alongside local Cebu drag artists bringing dynamic performances, creativity, and pride to the stage.

For Maria Lava, bringing her Drag Den sisters back to Cebu carries deep meaning.

“Bringing my Drag Den sisters back to Cebu means creating space where drag, community, and joy all meet,” she said.

Now in its second year, Dragdagulan na sa Sinulog has become a community tradition, honoring Drag Den, the queens, and the supporters who continue to uplift them.

The song “Sustah,” released by the Drag Den queens during the show’s second season, has become a symbolic anthem of inclusion, confidence, and queer pride.

Additionally, the choice to support animal welfare was immediate for Lava, an animal lover.

She explained that the advocacy aligns naturally with drag values, emphasizing that compassion is at the core of both drag and community.

Partnering with Angat Cebu BPO allows the event to turn celebration into tangible support for animals in need.

Sinulog’s themes of faith, culture, and community are reflected in the show’s creative direction.

According to Maria Lava, the performances were designed to celebrate identity, heritage, and the community that continues to inspire the artists.

The event comes at a significant time for Cebu’s drag scene following the closure of its former home bar, Cave Cebu Bar.

Lava noted that the community has learned that safety and belonging extend beyond physical spaces, defined instead by the people who show up for each other.

Bringing local and national drag artists together on one stage serves as a reminder that the drag community in Cebu is still thriving and connected.

“Every performance was designed to celebrate who we are, where we come from, and the community that continues to uplift and inspire us,” she said.

The show also aims for a long-term impact, rebuilding a sense of belonging, inspiring growth, and demonstrating that drag in Cebu will continue to create joy, safety, and visibility wherever it goes.

Tickets are priced at P299 for early online registration and P349 for walk-ins, available through the official registration link: https://forms.gle/FE755TR4araiUHv6A.
