Two Cebuanas will be formally unveiled as Cebu’s representatives to the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 pageant during a sashing and media presentation on February 1, organizers confirmed.
Earlier, the Miss Universe Philippines Cebu organization announced the upcoming presentation, highlighting the province’s continued presence on the national stage.
“This year, Cebu will continue to be represented on the national stage by a woman chosen for her strength, compassion, and sincere commitment to service,” the organizers said in an official statement.
In the days leading up to the announcement, the Cebu pageant organization teased silhouettes of the incoming representatives on its official social media pages.
Among the names most frequently mentioned by netizens were Apriel Smith and Nicole Borromeo, though organizers stressed that the final identities will only be confirmed during the February 1 sashing.
The latest titleholder, Gabriella Mai Carballo of Cebu City North, was crowned Miss Universe Philippines Cebu 2025 on December 18, 2025.
She succeeded Kris Tiffany Janson, also of Cebu City North, who held the title in 2024 after being crowned on February 3.
Organizers said more details on the official announcement, including the handover of responsibilities and the Cebu representatives’ preparation for the national competition, will be released in the coming days.
Cebu remains one of the country’s most closely watched provinces in the Miss Universe Philippines competition, having produced national standouts and international contenders in recent years. (LLP)
