NEWS REPORT: Tropical Storm Basyang (Penha) is now over the Bohol Sea and moving west-northwest toward Central Visayas, according to PAGASA Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 16 issued at 8:00 AM, February 6, 2026. The storm packs 65 km/h winds with gusts up to 90 km/h, bringing gale-force winds, heavy rainfall, rough seas, and possible storm surge across affected areas.
TCWS No. 2 remains in effect over parts of Cebu, Bohol, Negros, Leyte, Siquijor, and nearby provinces, while TCWS No. 1 covers surrounding regions. PAGASA warns of flooding, landslides, and dangerous sea conditions, urging residents and local authorities to remain alert and follow safety advisories.
