Cebu’s residents will now have greater access to advanced heart and vascular care, as the newly opened Heart and Vascular Institute in Mandaue aims to address the growing demand for specialized cardiovascular services.

The facility, which spans nearly 3,000 square meters, integrates all aspects of heart care, diagnostics, intervention, surgery, rehabilitation, and prevention, under one roof.

This initiative is designed to make high-quality care more accessible to patients, reducing the need for long-distance travel to specialized centers.

Chong Hua Hospital Mandaue, marking its 10th Anniversary, officially inaugurated the Institute as part of its commitment to improving heart health in the region.

The facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art Hybrid Cath Lab, which combines technologies from Philips and Siemens Healthineers to perform both minimally invasive and open-heart procedures in a single setting.

This innovation allows for faster, safer treatment and better outcomes for complex cases.

In addition, the Institute features dialysis-ready beds, comprehensive rehabilitation services, and prevention programs, ensuring continuous care and support for long-term recovery.

Dr. Joshua Brillantes, Director of the Department of Health (DOH) Central Visayas, emphasized the importance of addressing heart health, especially on Valentine’s Day.

He stressed that cardiovascular diseases remain a major concern in the Philippines, with hypertension being a key risk factor.

The DOH’s strategy aims to prevent, detect, and control hypertension, urging the public to monitor blood pressure and adopt healthier lifestyle habits to reduce the risks of heart disease and stroke.

The opening of the Heart and Vascular Institute reflects a broader commitment to improving heart health across Cebu.

By integrating advanced technology and a patient-centered approach, the Institute strengthens the healthcare system, ensuring that Filipinos have timely access to comprehensive cardiovascular care closer to home.
