The Land Transportation Office in Central Visayas (LTO 7 ) has issued a warning to traffic enforcers who behave arrogantly toward motorists, saying such personnel may face removal from their posts.

LTO 7 Director Wendel Calinao Dinglasan made the statement amid concerns over the conduct of some LTO personnel on the streets.

He stressed that professionalism and respect must always be upheld while carrying out enforcement duties.

“I-document po ng ating public ‘yung kagasapangan ng ugali and I will verify through due process and then ‘pag napatunayan natin, tanggalin natin,” Dinglasan said.

The regional director encouraged the public to report incidents of misconduct, assuring that complaints will be taken seriously and investigated promptly.

He emphasized that maintaining public trust remains a top priority and that any abuse of authority will not be tolerated.

Dinglasan reminded LTO personnel to treat motorists courteously during apprehensions and to request driver’s licenses and other documents politely.

He noted that taking videos of enforcers in public functions is allowed and can help document improper behavior.

“Halimbawa, meron po mga magagasapang ang ugali at tsaka mga masasama o kumbaga mayabang agad ang dating sa apprehension. I advise the public to document, or to video,” he said.

The regional director also clarified that arrogant officers have no place in public service.

“Hindi sila bagay sa public service kung ganyan ang ugali nila. We work for the people, hindi dapat magasapang ang ugali sa pinagtatrabahuhan natin,” Dinglasan said.

At the same time, he emphasized a balanced approach to enforcement, ensuring strict implementation of traffic rules while preventing motorists from taking advantage.

“Basta ang akin lang, it should be balanced, strict but with compassion. ‘Yun po ang goal natin dito,” he said. (VCL)
