A message of unity and compassion marked Easter Sunday as President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. urged Filipinos to draw hope from the Resurrection of Christ.

In his Easter message, Marcos described the celebration as the triumphant culmination of Holy Week and a reminder of renewal through faith.

“I join the entire Filipino nation in celebrating Easter Sunday, the triumphant culmination of Holy Week and the sacred proclamation of Christ’s Resurrection,” President Marcos said.

Filipino Christians across the country observed Easter Sunday with religious devotion and joy, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the end of the week-long solemnity.

The President emphasized that the occasion symbolizes triumph over despair and urged citizens to translate faith into acts of kindness and collective responsibility in building a stronger and more united Philippines.

“On this day, the empty tomb stands as a powerful testament that life conquers death and hope prevails over despair,” he said.

Marcos called on Filipinos to build a nation grounded in kindness and unity, stressing that shared faith, love of country, and a common vision can help overcome challenges.

He also urged the public to move forward in building a “Bagong Pilipinas” defined by compassion and care for one another.

The President noted that Easter reminds people that sacrifice is never in vain and that suffering can lead to renewal.

He added that the Resurrection offers a promise of enduring grace even in difficult times.

“Today, I call on every Filipino to rise with renewed purpose, unyielding hope, and a deep sense of responsibility for one another,” he said.
