Most parts of the Philippines are expected to experience generally fair weather on Easter Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported.
In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA said the weather is influenced by a ridge of a high pressure area (HPA) extending over Northern and Central Luzon.
The agency added that this brings partly cloudy to cloudy skies over Metro Manila and other areas of the country.
A ridge of HPA is an elongated zone of relatively higher atmospheric pressure that typically suppresses cloud formation, resulting in more stable and generally fair weather conditions.
Despite the generally fair weather, PAGASA warned that isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may still occur due to localized disturbances, particularly in parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.
Severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas.
Winds across the country are expected to be light to moderate, while coastal waters may range from 0.6 to 1.5 meters.
PAGASA also reported that temperatures in Metro Manila over the past 24 hours ranged from 22°C to 33.3°C.
