Cebu Engineers Tops in March Board Exam

Four graduates from Cebu-based schools secured spots in the Top 10 of the March 2026 Civil Engineers Licensure Examination, with one emerging as the national topnotcher.

Rico Quiñones Elao of Cebu Technological University (CTU) – Main led the passers nationwide, achieving a rating of 94.10 percent, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) reported.

Three other examinees from Cebu schools placed sixth, each posting a rating of 91.75 percent.

They were Sarah Marielle Soliclar Añinon of CTU-Main, Vicente Richards Zabate Aprentado of Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) University, and Cyril Dale Muaña Chavez of CTU-Danao.

A total of 6,438 out of 18,370 examinees passed the licensure examination conducted in March across 19 testing centers nationwide, according to the PRC.

The exams were administered by the Board of Civil Engineering, chaired by Engr. Praxedes P. Bernardo, with members Engr. Pericles P. Dakay and Engr. Romeo A. Estañero. 

Results were released within five working days after the last day of the examinations.

The PRC said registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Cards and Certificates of Registration will begin on May 8, 2026, through its online system.

Successful examinees are required to complete registration requirements, including submission of an accomplished oath form, notice of admission, photographs, and other supporting documents. 

Details for the oathtaking ceremonies will be announced at a later date.(LLP)
