A taxi driver reportedly suffered a medical emergency while driving, causing alarm along the Mambaling Tunnel and flyover on April 14, 2026.
According to reports, the driver had just come from the hospital after his daughter gave birth and insisted on driving home despite having no sleep. A witness, Mori Jake Bogart, shared that he urged the driver to stop, but his plea was not heard. “Sorry jud kaayo tatay kung wala nimo dungog akong hangyo nga hunong. Pwede rajud unta akoy drive padulong sa inyong balay,” he said.
It was later revealed that the driver experienced a medical attack while on the road, which led to the incident.
The situation serves as a reminder for motorists to prioritize safety and avoid driving when fatigued or unwell. Taking time to rest or asking for assistance can prevent accidents and save lives.
