Presidential Communications Office Secretary Dave M. Gomez, ASEAN 2026 Director General Hellen De La Vega, Pamela Baricuatro, and Cynthia Chan led the official opening of the International Media Center (IMC) on Tuesday, May 5, at Mactan World Museum ahead of the 48th ASEAN Summit and related meetings.
The IMC will serve as the central hub for local and international media, offering facilities and logistical support to ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive coverage of ASEAN engagements. The center is expected to play a key role in facilitating coordination among journalists, broadcasters, and digital media teams covering the high-level regional gathering.
Officials emphasized the importance of the IMC in strengthening information dissemination and promoting transparency throughout the summit, which brings together leaders and delegates from across Southeast Asia and partner nations.
