Discover the Hidden Beauty of Dao Falls in Pinamungajan, Cebu

Looking for a peaceful nature escape away from the crowded tourist spots? Nestled in the quiet mountain area of Opao, Pinamungajan, Cebu, Dao Falls offers a refreshing adventure surrounded by lush greenery, cool waters, and relaxing natural scenery.

What makes this hidden paradise even better is that there is no entrance fee, making it a perfect budget-friendly destination for travelers, hikers, and nature lovers exploring southern Cebu.

Dao Falls remains one of the lesser-known spots in Pinamungajan, which adds to its untouched beauty and peaceful atmosphere. Visitors are welcomed by the relaxing sound of flowing water and a scenic trail that leads down to the falls hidden below the mountain area.

How to Get There

From Cebu City, head to the South Bus Terminal and ride a Ceres Bus or Jegans Liner bound for the Municipality of Pinamungajan. Estimated bus fare ranges from ₱120 to ₱150 depending on the type of bus and current rates.

Travel time usually takes around 2 to 3 hours depending on traffic conditions.

Once you arrive at the town proper of Pinamungajan, you may ask locals for directions and ride a habal-habal going to Barangay Opao.

Visitors are advised to stop at the health center in Barangay Opao where the road leading to the falls begins. From there, expect a downhill trek since Dao Falls is literally located below the mountain area.

For first-time visitors, especially those unfamiliar with the area, it is highly recommended to ask assistance from locals or companions who have already visited the falls. The trail can be challenging and confusing due to several turns and rough paths along the way.

Travel Reminder

As more people begin discovering the beauty of Dao Falls, visitors are encouraged to become responsible travelers by practicing proper waste disposal, respecting nature, and helping preserve the cleanliness and peaceful environment of the area.

Leave nothing but footprints and take home only memories.
