Three graduates from Cebu secured spots in the Top 10 of the May 2026 Dentists Licensure Examination, based on results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

Leading the Cebuano topnotchers was Shanti Marrion Go Nicolas of Cebu Doctors’ University, who placed third nationwide with a rating of 89.93 percent.

She was followed by Mauriz Babes Teves Taytayan of Southwestern University, who ranked sixth with 89.30 percent.

Another Cebu Doctors’ University graduate, Christine Kyle Lopez Sumangil, completed the Cebuano top 10 list after placing ninth with a rating of 89.06 percent.

The examination was topped by Nicole Pastor Joaquin of Adventist University of the Philippines, who scored 90.57 percent.

A total of 796 out of 896 examinees passed the licensure exam conducted in testing centers in the National Capital Region, Baguio, Cebu, and Davao.

The PRC said the exam was administered by the Board of Dentistry led by chairperson Dr. Merlin Go, with members Dr. Gloria Bumanlag, Dr. Ellis James Ranada, Dr. Irene Grace Porter, and Dr. Ma. Jocelyn Genevieve Tan.

Results were released four working days after the last day of examinations.

Online registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Cards and Certificates of Registration will begin on July 8, 2026 via the PRC website.

Successful examinees are required to present a screenshot of the registration form and a valid government-issued ID during registration and must personally sign the roster of registered professionals.

Details of the oathtaking ceremony for new dentists will be announced by the PRC at a later date. (LLP)
