A heartbreaking tragedy struck Barangay Tuyan in Naga City after two seven-year-old children who were reported missing were found dead inside an abandoned gray vehicle on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
According to initial reports, the children had been missing since Sunday, May 17. Authorities believe the victims may have been playing inside the parked vehicle before accidentally becoming trapped inside.
Residents in the area were shocked by the discovery. One nearby resident shared that she had already noticed a foul odor earlier that morning while passing by the area, but initially thought it came from a dead animal such as a dog. The source of the smell was later discovered to be the bodies of the missing children inside the abandoned car.
Authorities said the bodies were already in an advanced state of decomposition when found. The two children have since been laid to rest by their grieving families.
Despite the burial, investigations remain ongoing to determine the exact cause of death and clarify the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
