Filipino Workers Rank Among the Happiest in the Asia-Pacific Region, According to Surveys

A large majority of Filipino workers consider themselves happy in their jobs, according to recent workplace studies, highlighting the country’s growing reputation for positive work culture and employee resilience.

Based on findings from the Workplace Happiness Index: Philippines 2025 conducted by online job portal JobStreet by SEEK, around 77% of Filipino employees described themselves as happy in their current work environment. The survey placed the Philippines among the top-ranking countries in overall workplace happiness in the Asia-Pacific region.

The study revealed that 44% of Filipino workers identified themselves as “somewhat happy,” while 33% said they were “extremely happy” with their jobs. Indonesia topped the regional survey with an 82% workplace happiness rating.

The survey was conducted from October to November 2025 among more than 10,500 employed individuals aged 18 to 64 across the Asia-Pacific region, including approximately 1,000 respondents from the Philippines.

Meanwhile, another international study, the Global Workplace Happiness Report 2026, ranked the Philippines third among countries with the happiest employees worldwide. The country earned a score of 8.1, placing behind only Italy and Colombia in the global rankings.

Experts note that several factors may contribute to the positive outlook of Filipino employees, including strong workplace relationships, adaptability, optimism, and the importance many Filipinos place on family and community support systems even in professional settings.

Despite challenges such as economic pressures, workload stress, and rising living costs, many Filipino workers continue to demonstrate resilience and maintain a positive attitude toward their careers and workplaces.

The reports have sparked discussions online, with many Filipinos sharing their own experiences and perspectives about job satisfaction, work-life balance, salary concerns, and workplace culture.
