PAGASA Monitoring Two Low Pressure Areas Affecting Parts of Visayas and Mindanao

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is currently monitoring two Low Pressure Areas (LPAs), including one located inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), which is expected to bring rain showers across several parts of the country.

According to PAGASA, the LPA inside PAR was last spotted approximately 810 kilometers east of Southern Mindanao. While weather authorities said the system still has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, its extension is already affecting weather conditions in several areas.

Rain showers associated with the weather disturbance are expected to affect parts of Mindanao, Central Visayas, Negros Island, Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte.

Meanwhile, another LPA was also monitored outside the PAR. However, PAGASA noted that the second weather disturbance also has a low probability of intensifying into a storm.

Authorities continue to advise the public, especially residents in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas, to remain alert for possible heavy rains and localized thunderstorms as unstable weather conditions persist.

PAGASA is expected to continue monitoring both weather systems and release further updates should significant developments occur.
