All Discaya-seized luxury vehicles now sold

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has completed the disposal of the remaining luxury vehicles linked to the Discaya family through a negotiated sale, generating more than P12 million in government revenue, the agency said Wednesday.

In a statement, the BOC said the auction held Tuesday covered four high-end vehicles, including a 2022 GMC XL Yukon Denali sold for P3.209 million, a 2021 Cadillac Escalade for P3.750 million, a 2022 Maserati Levante Modena for P2.008 million, and a 2022 GMC Yukon Denali for P3.309 million.

With the latest transaction, the bureau said all 13 seized vehicles previously linked to controversial contractors Pacifico “Curlee” and Cezarah “Sarah” Discaya have now been fully disposed of.

The Discaya couple had been linked to anomalous flood control projects, which led to the seizure of multiple luxury vehicles as part of enforcement actions.

BOC said total proceeds from the sale reached P114,744,884.15 and will be remitted to the Bureau of the Treasury.

Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said the completion of the disposal underscores the agency’s commitment to transparency and accountability in managing forfeited assets.

“Today’s completion of the disposal of all remaining Discaya vehicles reflects the bureau’s firm commitment to transparency, accountability, and decisive action in the management of forfeited assets.

More importantly, it demonstrates our continued efforts to ensure that government resources are properly utilized in a manner that serves the best interests of the Filipino people,” Nepomuceno said.

He added that the negotiated sale is part of the BOC’s continuing efforts to ensure the lawful and efficient disposal of abandoned and forfeited goods in accordance with existing customs laws and regulations.

The bureau said the initiative also forms part of its broader effort to optimize government resources and generate revenues through proper asset disposal mechanisms.
