Inquiries Emerge Regarding the Reported Relocation of Sugbo Mercado and Pipeline in Cebu IT Park

CEBU CITY — Questions and discussions have emerged among vendors and patrons following reports of the possible relocation of two of Cebu IT Park’s most recognizable destinations, Pipeline and the popular weekend food market, Sugbo Mercado.

Sugbo Mercado and nearby spots like Pipeline may be relocating, stirring nostalgia among many Cebuanos who have spent countless weekends enjoying food, gatherings, and memorable moments in Cebu IT Park. Over the years, the area has become a favorite destination for families, friends, office workers, and tourists seeking a vibrant community atmosphere in the heart of the city.

According to one tenant operating at Sugbo Mercado, vendors were informed that June 28, 2026, could be their final day of operations at the current site, with pull-out activities reportedly scheduled for June 29, 2026. The tenant shared that the area may be repurposed in the future, prompting discussions about a possible transfer to another location.

As of this writing, however, no official memorandum or public announcement has been released confirming the relocation, its timeline, or the future site of the establishments.

Since its establishment, Sugbo Mercado has become one of Cebu’s most successful outdoor food markets, drawing thousands of visitors every weekend. Known for bringing together local food entrepreneurs, specialty vendors, and emerging culinary concepts, the market has played a significant role in shaping Cebu’s vibrant food scene.

Meanwhile, Pipeline has also become a familiar landmark within Cebu IT Park, contributing to the area’s reputation as one of the city’s leading lifestyle and commercial districts.

The reported relocation has sparked conversations among regular patrons, many of whom associate the area with weekend gatherings, food discoveries, and memorable experiences with family and friends. While uncertainty remains, stakeholders are awaiting official clarification regarding the future of both establishments.

For now, vendors continue their regular operations as the public watches closely for any formal announcement regarding the reported transfer and redevelopment plans for the area.
