Subangdaku Elementary School gets P60M new school building

A newly inaugurated P60-million, two-storey school building at Subangdaku Elementary School in Mandaue City is expected to help ease classroom congestion as public schools prepare for the opening of the next academic year.

The facility was turned over on June 2, 2026, and includes 10 classrooms and a multi-purpose hall, funded through a public-private partnership led by Dynamic Castings.

Education officials said the project is part of continuing efforts to address the classroom backlog in Central Visayas, where many public schools continue to face overcrowding due to rising student population.

Department of Education Central Visayas Director Arturo Bayocot underscored the importance of sustained collaboration among government, private partners, and communities in improving education infrastructure.

“The act of giving is not measured by its size, but by the heart behind it,” Bayocot said, adding that community participation remains essential in ensuring schools are ready for classes.

He also urged stakeholders to continue supporting school preparation programs and maintaining safe and conducive learning environments for students.

Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro expressed support for education initiatives and announced additional assistance for learning facilities, including funding for a speech laboratory aimed at strengthening students’ communication skills.

Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Ouano also highlighted the importance of investments in education, saying these projects play a key role in long-term development and community progress.

Dynamic Castings managing director Mary Lou Ngo-Ang said the project was born out of close coordination with the school community and sustained engagement with education stakeholders over time.

She said the initiative reflects both corporate responsibility and a personal commitment to education, noting that the company’s involvement in Subangdaku Elementary School was strengthened by long-standing ties with the community.

Ngo-Ang added that the project was not only about constructing classrooms but also about creating a better environment where both teachers and students can thrive, particularly as schools continue to face congestion and resource challenges.

She emphasized that the facility aims to provide more comfortable and functional learning spaces, helping improve day-to-day instruction and student engagement.

“For us, this is more than a building turnover. It is about continuing a relationship with the community and investing in the future of our learners,” Ngo-Ang said, noting that education remains one of the most meaningful areas of support for the private sector.

She added that Dynamic Castings remains committed to working with education partners in future projects that will further support school development in the city and beyond.
