CEBU CITY, Philippines — The University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R) once again strengthened its reputation as a leading institution in accountancy education after producing two topnotchers in the May 2026 Certified Public Accountants Licensure Examination (CPALE).
Leading the university’s exceptional performance were Blas Miguel V. Escarro, who secured 4th Place, and Joan Alliah M. Carilimdiliman, who achieved 10th Place in the national licensure examination administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
With this achievement, USJ-R emerged as the only Cebu-based university to produce CPALE topnotchers in the May 2026 examination, highlighting the institution’s continued excellence in developing future accounting professionals.
During a press conference held following the release of the examination results, Escarro and Carilimdiliman expressed their gratitude to their families, mentors, classmates, and the entire USJ-R community for their unwavering support throughout their academic journey.
The two topnotchers also shared words of encouragement for aspiring Certified Public Accountants, emphasizing the importance of discipline, perseverance, focus, and resilience in overcoming the challenges of preparing for the board examination.
University officials likewise recognized the collective efforts of the School of Business and Management (SBM) faculty, academic mentors, and the USJ-R CPA Review Center, whose guidance and commitment played a significant role in the success of the graduates.
