MINDANAO, Philippines — The Philippine Army’s 10th Infantry (Agila) Division has mobilized its Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) units to support communities affected by the powerful earthquake that struck parts of Mindanao on June 8, 2026.
Immediately following reports of the earthquake, the division placed its units on heightened alert and deployed disaster response teams to assist local government units and emergency responders in affected areas. The deployment aims to strengthen ongoing rescue, relief, and recovery operations as authorities continue to assess the extent of the damage caused by the quake.
Army personnel have been conducting a range of emergency response activities, including search and rescue operations, damage assessments, route clearing, and the delivery of humanitarian assistance to affected residents. These efforts are being carried out in close coordination with local government units, disaster management offices, law enforcement agencies, and other partner organizations involved in the response.
The military emphasized its commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of communities impacted by the disaster. As aftershocks remain possible and assessments continue, troops remain on standby to provide additional assistance wherever needed.
The rapid deployment highlights the Philippine Army’s role not only in national defense but also in disaster response, particularly during emergencies that threaten the lives and livelihoods of Filipino communities.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely while urging residents to follow safety advisories and cooperate with emergency response teams.
