Members of the 17th Sangguniang Panlungsod of Mandaue City approved on first reading an ordinance seeking to increase the daily compensation of Job Order and Clean and Green employees during its regular session on Monday, June 22, at the Mandaue City Hall.
The measure, approved under the leadership of Vice Mayor Glenn O. Bercede, proposes a 15-peso increase for Job Order workers and a 300-peso increase for Clean and Green personnel.
Under the proposed adjustment, Job Order employees currently receive P435, while Clean and Green workers earn P4,500.
Councilor Joel M. Seno said the council is aiming to fast-track the measure so it can take effect by July 1, 2026.
He said the proposal is targeted for immediate processing in the coming weeks to meet the intended implementation timeline.
Seno said the adjustment takes into account current economic conditions and the need to support city workers.
He added that the increase has been long overdue, noting that the city last implemented a wage adjustment more than two years ago.
“To cope up with the times, we think about the employees,” Seno said.
