TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte — Three people were killed while five others were injured in a shooting incident at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City on Monday morning, June 22, 2026, according to the Police Regional Office-8 (PRO-8).
Authorities said one suspect has already been arrested, while a manhunt operation is ongoing against another alleged accomplice who managed to flee following the incident.
The victims were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Additional police personnel were also deployed to the school to secure the area and ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school staff.
Law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack and determine the motive behind the crime.
