Senior citizens from five barangays received financial assistance from the city government during a payout activity held on Tuesday, June 23, as part of the local government’s continuing social welfare program.
Beneficiaries from Barangays Loay, Cantabaco, Campo 8, Bunga, and Poog each received ₱2,000 for the second quarter of 2026, benefiting a total of 500 senior citizens and amounting to a total disbursement of ₱1 million.
The initiative is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to support the welfare and daily needs of senior citizens, recognizing their contributions to the community while providing additional assistance to help address their basic needs. Local officials said the program underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring that senior citizens continue to receive government support and social services.
The city government is expected to continue implementing similar assistance programs as part of its broader social protection initiatives for vulnerable sectors.
