Photojournalist Jacq M. Hernandez earned national recognition after winning Second Prize in the Photo Essay Category of the Supreme Court’s Photography Contest, held as part of the judiciary’s 125th Anniversary celebration.
Hernandez, a photojournalist for Proud Bisaya Bai, received a ₱75,000 cash prize for her award-winning photo essay titled “Binaliw.” Her work was recognized for its compelling visual storytelling among entries submitted by photographers from across the country.
The photography competition was organized to commemorate the Supreme Court’s 125 years of upholding justice while showcasing stories that reflect the lives, culture, and experiences of Filipinos through photography.
Hernandez’s achievement marks another milestone for Cebu’s photojournalism community, highlighting the talent and dedication of local visual storytellers on the national stage.
Her recognition also serves as a source of pride for the Cebuano community and the Proud Bisaya Bai team, as her work continues to capture meaningful stories through the power of photography.
