The Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) approved the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management’s (PDRRM) P88.7-million trust fund program during a council meeting headed by the PDRRMC Chair Governor Pam Baricuatro on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the Capitol.

The fund will enforce disaster risk reduction and management projects and initiatives across Cebu Province, improving the province’s disaster preparedness and protection efforts.

Out of the total budget, P4-million has been allocated for projects on early disaster recovery and response, P5-million for disaster rehabilitation and recovery, P6-million for disaster mitigation and prevention, and P73.7-million is designated for disaster preparedness.

The P4-million budget for disaster rehabilitation and recovery will be used to procure temporary shelters, relief goods, and other necessary supplies for affected communities.

On the other hand, the P5-million budget for disaster rehabilitation and recovery will finance activities and projects that intend to support recovering infrastructures in affected areas.

Meanwhile, the P6-million fund for disaster mitigation and prevention will also be divided: P5-million for training and capacity development programs and P1-million for educational campaigns on disasters.

Out of the P73.7 million budget on disaster preparedness, P47 million will be allocated to the procurement of response and emergency vehicles, mobile command center and other devices needed during rescue operations, P2 million will be provided for emergency water supply systems, P15 million will be used to purchase equipment for PDRRMO’s command center, and P10 million will be allocated to acquire rescue and seismic equipment, life detectors, and protective gears.

Upon approval by the PDRRMC, the trust fund program will be recommended to the Provincial Board (PB) for the deliberations and final approval, expecting for the program to further improve and strengthen the Cebu Province’s efforts on protecting lives, infrastructure, properties, and livelihoods during disasters, once officially approved.
