President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday called on members of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) to continue working with the government in nation-building as the religious organization marked its 112th anniversary.
In a message released by Malacañang, Marcos recognized the INC as a community built on faith, discipline, and shared responsibility, noting its growth from a Philippine-based church into a global religious institution.
“From your humble beginnings, you have grown into a religious institution whose presence has reached communities across the globe,” Marcos said.
The President said the INC’s continued service highlights the importance of faith and integrity in strengthening society.
“Your enduring work reminds us that a life rooted in devotion and integrity helps reinforce the moral foundation of society,” he added.
Marcos encouraged INC members to continue turning their beliefs into actions that benefit communities.
“As you gather in thanksgiving, may this milestone deepen your commitment to translating your beliefs into meaningful acts that uplift those in need, comfort the weary, and foster harmony wherever you serve,” he said.
He also urged the religious organization to remain a partner of the government in promoting social development and public service.
“In this spirit, I encourage every member of the INC to remain a steadfast partner in nation-building, where faith is demonstrated through service and citizenship is expressed through genuine concern for others,” Marcos said.
The President assured the INC of the government’s support for organizations that promote peace, strengthen families, and encourage compassion.
“Rest assured that the government stands in solidarity with organizations that strengthen families, promote peace, and expand compassion throughout our country,” he said.
Marcos issued the message as he prepared to deliver his fifth State of the Nation Address before a joint session of Congress on Monday afternoon.
The INC has recently been part of national political discussions after organizing several peace rallies opposing efforts to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte and the arrest of Sen. Rodante Marcoleta.
The church has maintained that the assemblies were aimed at promoting peace and national unity.
