Mandaue City government employees are set to receive additional benefits as part of the city’s Charter Day activities, including incentives for Job Order (JO) workers and other non-regular personnel, as well as the implementation of the third tranche of salary increases for regular employees.
The Mandaue City Council approved on first reading the proposed measures granting the additional benefits and salary adjustments.
Councilor Joel Seno, chairman of the Committee on Budget and Finance, said the city is proposing an honorarium equivalent to an additional P115 per day for Job Order employees covering July 1 to August 31, 2026.
The incentive will be granted only to JO workers who remain employed by the city government until Aug. 31.
Around 4,000 JO employees are currently working under the Mandaue City Government.
Meanwhile, Clean and Green workers and Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) will receive an additional P1,200 per month for two months, or a total of P2,400 for the same period.
Seno said the incentives form part of the city’s Charter Day benefits for government workers.
Regular employees, meanwhile, will receive the third tranche of the updated salary schedule for local government personnel under Executive Order No. 64, series of 2024, following the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Local Budget Circular No. 172 issued on July 16, 2026.
Seno said the city is preparing the necessary ordinance to implement the salary adjustment at the local level, although the increase is mandated by the national government.
“Gipa-allocate na na sa Mayor (Thadeo Jovito ‘Jonkie’ Ouano) daan for this year’s implementation,” Seno said.
He added that funds for the salary adjustment have already been allocated, with the increase scheduled to take effect beginning Aug. 2, 2026 and continuing thereafter.
“Mao ni ang angay atngan in line with the Charter Day activities,” Seno said.
