A total of 1,126 beneficiaries received the cash assistance, along with 10 kilos of rice provided by the national government.
The aid was intended for residents affected by Tino, which struck Cebu in November 2025 and caused severe flooding in parts of Mandaue City.
Provincial Board Member Malcolm Sanchez, who represents Mandaue City’s lone district, said the assistance was part of the provincial government’s response to residents who were affected by the typhoon.
“Better late than never,” Sanchez said.
He said beneficiary lists were prepared by the concerned local government units, particularly the barangays, before being verified and submitted to the Cebu Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office for the release of assistance.
“The listing gikan sa city and sila ang nag-verify and submitted sa Provincial Social Welfare Development Office for the releasing,” he said.
Sanchez said residents who were qualified but unable to receive the assistance during Wednesday’s distribution may proceed to the Cebu Provincial Capitol to claim their aid.
The distribution came as some Mandaue residents continue to recover from the effects of Tino months after the typhoon hit Cebu.
