Don Macchiatos, Don Lemon, and Proud Bisaya Bai Extend Support to Landslide-Affected Community in Pulangbato

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Don Macchiatos Philippines and Don Lemon Philippines, in partnership with Proud Bisaya Bai, extended support to the landslide-affected community in Barangay Pulangbato, Cebu City, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, as part of their community outreach initiative.

The groups visited the wake of the victims of the tragic landslide that struck a family’s home on Friday, October 9, burying four family members. The incident claimed the lives of two young children and their 60-year-old grandmother, while their mother survived.

The visit was part of an effort to express solidarity with the bereaved family and provide comfort to fellow Cebuanos affected by the tragedy.

Pulangbato Gym Serves as Evacuation Center

Meanwhile, the Pulangbato Gym continues to serve as an evacuation center for residents affected by the incident.

Based on the provided figures, the evacuation center accommodates 230 individuals from 59 families across 42 households. The evacuee population consists of 114 males and 116 females.

The recorded demographics include nine children aged 0 to 24 months, 35 children aged 3 to 12 years old, 23 senior citizens aged 60 and above, and three pregnant women. The center also accommodates three persons with disabilities (PWDs), 14 sharers, and one renter.

These figures highlight the needs of affected residents, particularly children, senior citizens, pregnant women, and other vulnerable individuals who require support while staying at the evacuation center.

Community Solidarity in Times of Crisis

Through the initiative, Don Macchiatos Philippines, Don Lemon Philippines, and Proud Bisaya Bai reaffirmed the importance of compassion and community solidarity during difficult times.

Beyond sharing refreshments, the initiative sought to remind affected residents that they are not alone as they cope with the aftermath of the tragedy.

As the community continues to face the challenges brought by the landslide, acts of kindness and collective support remain meaningful expressions of solidarity with those affected.
