Young triathletes tested their endurance across three multisport competitions in Camotes Islands as the 2026 National Age Group Triathlon Series concluded on Oct. 24 to 25 with support from the Cebu Provincial Government.
The two-day series brought the National Age Group Duathlon to Tudela, the Aquathlon to San Francisco, and the Triathlon to Santiago Bay, San Francisco, giving participants opportunities to gain competitive experience and measure their skills against athletes from other areas.
Athletes competed in the duathlon at Tudela Central School on Oct. 24 before moving to Santiago Beach Resort in San Francisco for the aquathlon that afternoon.
The triathlon followed on Oct. 25 at the same resort.
The Triathlon Association of the Philippines worked with the local governments of San Francisco, Tudela and Poro to organize the competitions.
Triathlon Philippines Vice President and Technical Committee Chair Sarita Zafra joined the final inter-agency meeting to coordinate preparations for the event, which organizers expected to draw more than 500 athletes.
The Cebu Provincial Government, through the Cebu Provincial Sports Commission (CPSC), supported the organizers under Gov. Pamela Baricuatro’s administration.
CPSC Chairman Dr. Rhoel Dejaño and commission personnel helped coordinate the event across the three municipalities, contributing to the conduct of the competitions.
The series gave young athletes a national-level venue to sharpen their skills, build race experience and strengthen camaraderie within the Philippine multisport community.
The provincial government and the CPSC said their support reflects continuing efforts to expand sports opportunities, develop local athletic talent and promote sports excellence throughout Cebu.
