The Department of Energy (DOE) said it delivered a payment check to AmiananPH on Friday, Oct. 30, after the souvenir maker raised concerns over delayed payments for artisan gifts distributed during the ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting.
In a statement issued Friday night, the DOE said it had completed payment processing and delivered the check to the supplier earlier that day, ahead of the 30-working-day processing period provided in the agreement’s terms of reference.
AmiananPH had claimed in a social media post that payments from the DOE and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the ASEAN-related souvenirs had been delayed.
The DOE said it maintained regular communication with the supplier throughout the agreed processing period.
It added that during the supplier’s visit to the department on Oct. 29, it provided an update on the payment and assured the company that the matter was being monitored and processed according to schedule.
“Today, 30 October 2026, the DOE completed the processing of the payment and delivered the check to the supplier, ahead of the 30-working-day processing period stipulated in the Terms of Reference,” the agency said.
The department also recognized the contribution of local enterprises in preserving Filipino craftsmanship and supporting community livelihoods.
“The Department of Energy recognizes and fully supports the important role of local enterprises in preserving Filipino craftsmanship and contributing to the livelihoods of communities. It remains committed to fostering partnerships grounded in transparency, accountability, and the timely fulfillment of its obligations,” it said.
The DOE added that it would continue to keep its partners informed and address questions or concerns that may arise.
The souvenirs were distributed to delegates, guests and partners who attended the ASEAN energy meeting held from Oct. 5 to 9.
