Cebu City, Philippines – The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Cebu Business Months (CBM), and Department of Tourism launched its adversary to promote the Tourism Industry in Central Visayas, in the name of GO EXPLORE CEBU: Tourism Summit, at SMX Convention Center, Sky Hall SM Seaside. The Summit was graced by notable speakers and panelists, including Former Liloan Mayor, now the Tourism Department Chief Christina Garcia Frasco and USec. Shahlimar Hofer Tamano, where they laid down their various expertise, plans, commitments, portfolios and experiences to over 300+ participants.
Sec. Christina vowed to focus and revive those dying tourism businesses caused by the COVID Pandemic and even quoted that the President strongly supports our adversary towards tourism development as it is one of the bread and butter of Cebu’s thriving economy. She said, “…the President in his State of the Nation Address, has clearly said that the national government will be giving aggressive support the creative industry.”
Cebu with its historic sites, world-renowned white sand beaches, other tourism assets, and especially environment preserving policies, shall be taking this as its advantages in vying for its sustainable tourism industry.
The summit also opened the topic for the future of Tourism providing novel concepts that can be backed by our prospering technology, which touches the world of “cashless markets”, “e-commerce”, “Virtual Tourism” and other bright new concepts that are yet to be applied and explored. With speakers from highly-acclaimed tech-biz industries including, Maya Business, Converge ICT, PLDT Enterprise, Cebu Pacific Air, Mata Technologies, Quest Hotel, and other esteemed corporate brands.
The summit ended with a lesson that somewhat summarizes that, businesses and industries nowadays must work hand-in-hand together with technology, as it progresses faster than we ever think it is.
