The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has intensified its search and rescue operations for the remaining missing passengers of M/V Trisha Kerstin 3 with the deployment of PCG Technical Divers and the use of a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) in the waters off Basilan.
According to PCG Spokesperson Captain Noemie Cayabyab, the move is part of the agency’s continuing efforts to locate the vessel and those still missing. The technical divers are conducting underwater search operations in identified areas of interest, while the ROV is being utilized for deep-water inspections and operations in areas deemed unsafe for human divers.
The use of advanced underwater technology allows the PCG to safely and effectively survey submerged areas with limited visibility and challenging sea conditions, providing critical visual data to support ongoing search efforts.
Following the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Department of Transportation Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez, the PCG remains committed to exhausting all available resources in its search and rescue mission, prioritizing the safety of lives at sea.
