Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) is solidifying its role as a major transfer hub for domestic travelers, offering convenient connections to top destinations across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Operated by Aboitiz InfraCapital, Inc. (AIC), MCIA is part of a growing network of airports, including Bohol-Panglao International Airport and Laguindingan International Airport, that aim to expand domestic air connectivity in the country.

MCIA stands out as a strategic point for travelers seeking efficient transfers to popular cities and island destinations.

With its expanding network, increased flight frequencies, and partnerships with key airlines, MCIA has become a go-to hub for passengers traveling across the archipelago.

AirAsia Philippines has strengthened its Cebu operations, offering direct flights from Cebu to Davao, Iloilo, and Caticlan, with flexible schedules for business and leisure travelers.

Morning flights to Iloilo operate from 6:30 a.m. to 7:55 a.m., while afternoon departures to Caticlan run from 4:05 p.m. to 5:20 p.m.

The Cebu–Davao–Cebu route now has 18 weekly flights, improving connectivity between Visayas and Mindanao.

Cebu Pacific has also expanded its domestic network from Cebu, with direct flights to El Nido, Siargao, and Coron, in addition to over 24 other destinations.

Starting March 29, Cebu Pacific will add 33 weekly flights from MCIA to Bacolod City, Boracay (via Caticlan), Butuan City, Cagayan de Oro City, Clark, Dumaguete City, Iloilo, Tacloban City, and El Nido to meet peak summer demand.

By mid-June, weekly frequencies are expected to reach 23 flights to Butuan City and 17 to Bacolod City. MCIA now offers 31 direct domestic routes covering 35 destinations.

MCIA’s domestic network is complemented by growing international connectivity.

Philippine Airlines recently introduced its Airbus A350-1000 at MCIA on March 12, the first of its kind in Asia.

The aircraft offers fuel efficiency, quieter engines, and enhanced passenger comfort for long-haul flights.

Through these developments, MCIA continues to position Cebu not only as a destination but as a gateway connecting travelers to the Philippines’ top cities and islands.

The airport’s growing network and airline partnerships aim to make domestic and international travel smoother, faster, and more accessible.
