Mount Pulag: The Sea of Clouds Destination in the Philippines

Rising 2,926 meters above sea level, Mount Pulag is the third-highest mountain in the Philippines and one of the most popular hiking destinations in Northern Luzon. Located within the Mount Pulag National Park, the mountain is famous for its breathtaking “sea of clouds,” sunrise views, and unique mossy forests.

Why Visit Mt. Pulag

Mt. Pulag attracts thousands of hikers each year for its spectacular landscapes and cool mountain climate. Trekkers pass through pine forests, grasslands, and mossy forests before reaching the summit where the famous sea of clouds can often be seen at sunrise.

Entrance Fees and Rates

Fees may vary slightly depending on the trail and local guidelines, but typical costs include:

• Environmental Fee: ₱100 per person

• Entrance Fee: ₱200 per person

• Mandatory Guide Fee: ₱500–₱1,000 per group

• Camping Fee: ₱200 per person

• Orientation Fee: ₱150 per person

All hikers are required to attend a mandatory orientation before trekking.

How to get there?

From Manila

1. Take a bus bound for Baguio City. Travel time is about 5–6 hours.

2. From Baguio, take a jeep or van to Kabayan, the jump-off point for the Ambangeg trail.

3. Register at the ranger station of Mount Pulag National Park and attend the required orientation.

From Baguio City

• Travel by jeep or van to Kabayan (around 2–3 hours).

• Proceed to the Ambangeg Ranger Station for registration.

⚠️ Important Reminders

• Book your hike in advance as visitor slots are limited.

• Temperatures at the summit can drop to 0–10°C, so bring warm clothing.

• Follow Leave No Trace principles to help protect the mountain’s ecosystem.
