Along the streets of Guadalupe, Cebu, just a short walking distance from the barangay hall, a humble Christmas parol vendor continues to brighten the community with colorful lanterns even after being hit hard by Typhoon Tino.
According to the vendor, half of their house was damaged by the strong winds and heavy rains brought by the typhoon. Despite the loss and hardship, they remain determined to bring joy and light to others through their handmade parols; a cherished Filipino symbol of Christmas hope and faith.
Their parols come in two sizes and prices:
• Small – ₱100
• Big – ₱400
The vendor’s stall is open daily, welcoming anyone who wishes to add a warm glow to their homes this holiday season.
“Despite the calamities, we will find ways to smile even in a simple way,” the vendor shared, embodying the resilience and optimism that Filipinos are known for.
Through their dedication, this parol vendor reminds everyone that the true light of Christmas shines brightest in the face of challenges.
